The Quality, Environmental Management, Energy Management, and Food Safety System implemented at TOMATES DEL GUADIANA, SOCIEDAD COOPERATIVA, meets the applicable requirements of the UNE‑EN ISO 14001:2015, UNE‑EN ISO 50001:2018, and BRCGS FOOD SAFETY standards and is structured and adapted to the activity of producing tomato and fruit concentrates and purées. It also establishes the commitment to comply with the regulatory legal requirements set to protect the environment, based on the granted INTEGRATED ENVIRONMENTAL AUTHORIZATION and any other requirements the organization subscribes to.
The Quality, Environmental Management, Energy Management, and Food Safety Policy of TOMATES DEL GUADIANA, S.Coop., is based on the following points:
- 1. The main objective of the company is to ensure that the first processing of the fruit is carried out by its own producers.
- 2. A firm commitment from the Management of TOMATES DEL GUADIANA, S.Coop., to carry out the implementation, development, continuous improvement, and monitoring of the company’s Quality, Environmental Management, Energy Management, and Food Safety System, as well as the continuous improvement of energy performance and the establishment of mechanisms to facilitate the active participation of everyone in the execution of the food defense plan.
- 3. Strict compliance with current environmental and energy legislation (including those related to energy efficiency, energy use, and energy consumption) and with other requirements subscribed to by the organization, as well as HALAL and KOSHER requirements and customer requirements (including M&S guidelines); the production and processing of raw materials must be safe and legal so that the final product meets all the requirements established by these laws.
- 4. Development of a mutual collaborative relationship with our suppliers, conveying and involving them in our Quality, Environmental Management, Energy Management, and Food Safety Policy.
- 5. Development of a mutual collaborative relationship with our customers, involving them in our Quality, Environmental Management, Energy Management, and Food Safety Policy in order to achieve a higher level of satisfaction and thus meet the quality they specify.
- 7. A commitment to the continuous improvement of the quality of our final food product, as well as of the initial raw material (including the non‑use of genetically modified seeds).
- 7. Preserve the final products in optimal quality conditions while in stock to reduce losses for the company and increase its performance.
- 8. A commitment to the continuous training of Tomates del Guadiana personnel in quality, food defense, energy management, and environmental management.
- 9. Minimize the environmental impact of our activities by controlling the environmental aspects generated, following the philosophy of reducing and recycling our waste and, when this is not possible, giving it a final destination that ensures the least impact on the environment, thus guaranteeing the continuous improvement of our environmental performance and long‑term sustainability, maintaining a balance with the resources of our surroundings. Our privileged location, surrounded by farmland, allows us to reduce processing times during the harvest season. Those short waiting periods ensure maximum preservation of the qualities of the fresh product and directly lead to a reduction in environmental impact.
- 10. The company is committed to informing all employees of their responsibilities regarding food quality and safety, involving them in the company’s culture in this regard. Management takes on a special commitment to the implementation and continuous improvement of a food safety culture that involves all company personnel.
- 11. A commitment to the efficient management of energy resources, ensuring the availability of the information and resources necessary to achieve energy objectives and targets, thereby reducing CO₂ emissions derived from their consumption.
- 12. Support the acquisition of energy‑efficient products and services that have an impact on the organization’s energy performance, as well as design activities that consider the improvement of energy performance.
- 13. Vigilar water consumption so that it does not affect the towns surrounding our industry, a key interested party for our company, using treated and recycled water from our own facilities to wash the fresh fruit, thus contributing to the conservation of an increasingly valuable resource.
- 14. The company will encourage the expression of new ideas and proposals to develop improvement processes.
- 15. The company commits to minimizing the risk of fraud and ensuring that all product descriptions and claims are legal, appropriate, and verifiable through its Quality, Environmental Management, Energy Management, and Food Safety System, thereby supplying authentic products.
- 16. Prevent TOMATES DEL GUADIANA from generating any pollution in order to maintain a mutually beneficial relationship with the surrounding environment.
- 17. The company is aware of its ethical and social responsibility and of the importance of the well‑being of its workers.
These principles will be applied systematically in accordance with the implemented Quality, Environmental Management, Energy Management, and Food Safety System. This policy will be distributed throughout the facilities and kept up to date.
